Poll: Should the FIA and F1 step in to curb Red Bull’s dominance?

Throughout the 2023 season, Mercedes’ Toto Wolff was clear he did not want to see any rule changes being introduced to slow Red Bull down.

Wolff stated that F1 was a meritocracy and whichever team did the best job would win.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali echoed those thoughts as Red Bull swept to 21 of 22 grand prix wins – only missing out in Singapore – with Max Verstappen claiming 19 of those for the most crushing season by a driver in F1 history.

At present, 2024 looks just as threatening, with Verstappen easily claiming the first two wins of the season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, comfortably ahead of the chasing pack, even if the gap to Red Bull appears to have been closed slightly.

Rule changes being introduced mid-cycle to peg back a team are nothing new, with the floor tweaks in 2021 halting the Mercedes juggernaut of 2020, whilst the 2005 tyre and pitstop rules humbled Ferrari after the Michael Schumacher era.

But should the FIA and F1 step in?
